Among many things, New Mexico Ristras are a gesture of "welcome".  A ristra by the door says “You’re welcome here.” These are deeply meaningful to me, as New Mexico is where I was born and raised. More importantly, these make me reflect on the blood of the lamb that was placed over the door during passover that kept people protected from harm.
